New Roles for Student Affiars: Developing International Programs and Services

Abstract

College student service professionals are in a unique position to remove institutional ba"iers to student participation in international programs and services. New oppportunities to work with international colleagues and their home institutions are being fostered by mimprovements in communications and the creation of innovative partnerships. Several professional associations and their leaders have been engaged in promoting growth in this arena. Examples of national differences in student services delivery are followed by descriptions of selected professional organizations devoted to advancing college student services, and recent breakthroughs in international cooperation.
