George Mason University established the Early Identification Program in response to the growing problem of poor academic preparation of many inner-city minority students. A strong alliance with three public school districts was established to foster and guarantee early and consistent intervention. The fundamental objective of the program is to encourage and motivate academically "at-risk" minority students to select and complete a college preparatory curriculum and enroll in college. Participants who successfully complete the pre-college program are guaranteed admission to George Mason. The program has experienced remarkable success since its inception.Downloads
