Guiding "Smart-on-Crime" Legislation through the Texas Bill-Birthing Process

Abstract

The Texas Criminal Justice Coalition (TCJC) located in Austin, Texas, is a nonprofit working toward developing and implementing real solutions in the Texas juvenile and
criminal justice system. In 2013, TCJC was able to push 50 smart-on-crime policies into law by working with representatives, senators, legislative staffers, practitioners, advocates, and others.
